Some examinees were evicted from the exam halls because they went in with their cell phones or MP3 players during the national college entrance exams. So they are now deprived of the right to take the national college entrance exams next year. Some argue that we must forgive those students, but others argue that the law must not be changed easily.
The Education Ministry enacted a law that categorizes anyone possessing a cell phone in an exam hall as a cheat. The law also annuls the scores of anyone caught with a cell phone and bans the candidate from retaking the test for a year. The law also provides the option of sentencing students to Youth Detention and Correction centers, depending on the extent of behavior involved.
I feel bad for them, but why didn`t they listen to the instructions? And I can`t understand how they didn`t know that their mobiles were in their bags. Because of the mistakes, they now have to wait two years before being able to sit the entrance exam. It is heartbreaking, but we never know what the students` intentions are for having mobiles despite the ministry`s warning. There was enough notice about this. This can`t be just passed over. If it were, there`d be no control over cheating.
