Politics Presidential candidates and the war of words

I was watching TV, and heard something that I thought was wrong and cheap.
The caster was using words carefully chosen by professionals, but basically, the message itself was saying that American presidential candidates were delivering personal attacks to each other. For example, I saw a commercial on TV made by the supporters of McCain, one of the presidential
candidates, nakedly decrying Obama, one of the most popluar presidential candidates. At the last few seconds, a sentence appears, which shows McCain’s opinion brutally well. It was something like this, "He is the biggest celebrity in the world, but is he ready to lead?"
Later I heard that Obama paid McCain back using the same method as well.
Q. Do you think that using media to deliver personal attacks is right?
Q. Which side do you think this issue has helped gain more attention and population?

Hi it's my first time to write my opinion..I'm not extremely confident about my Enlglish but here is my thought.
i think personal attacks frequently happen in election. Yesterday i saw the cnn news that Barak Obama was criticizing Sarah Parilin. He said that " If u put lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig!" The reason why he said that is that Sarah Parilin is now being very famous as a woman running mate and could be the first woman vice president in United States. Maybe 52% of the American Women will vote for Maccain because Sarah Palilin is a WOMAN !
Recently Maccain was on a TV show called The View which is very popular show among women. The reason why he was being there was to gain more vote from women by praising Sarah Parilin and i thought it was so ridiculous because the purpose of the president candidate is to suggest good policies and trying to make their nation a better place but what he has done was not appropriate. i think that they are kind of lost their duties or they changed their goals to get more vote, not to be a devoted president. So what i 'm trying to say is that trying to gain attention is alright but both candidaties are going too far ..
