제목: Debating Copenhagen
Hi,
As of yet you haven’t said whether you’ll be joining our Global Youth Panel to debate the Copenhagen climate change conference. I hope you wont mind if I try and persuade you to click that ‘attending’ button.
First I want to be clear that these debates take place online – so you don’t have to come to Copenhagen to debate. And limited participation is okay too – we wont chain you to a computer and ask you churn out 2,000 words a day.
But it is no exaggeration to say this is the most important climate change conference to have ever taken place and what happens there will be felt by all of us for years to come. So if you care about the environment you should be thinking about what you can do to make your voice heard.
Our panel is just one way of course, but it is a very good way. As far as we know we’re the only people doing this. We’re certainly the only people doing it in a way which involves reasoned debates as well as closed polling.
As a result, we think we’ll get significant press attention and that your voice has the chance to be heard around the world. So please, go to http://www.facebook.com/l/dbe7c;debatewise.info/cop15 and fill out that form.
We’re also looking for people to act as country co-ordinators for the event. The job is to try and get around 10 or 20 people from your country to join the panel and then to encourage them to vote and debate once the event has started.
If you know anyone who may be interested in representing your country and having a big impact in this vitally important climate change debate please ask them to email me at dc@debatewise.com.
Feel free to email me if you've got any questions too.
Thank you, and sorry if I’ve bothered you.
Dave
